Invention of the Car
From 1908 to 1909 the Ford Model T was to be built. The steel used for building the vehicle was a vanadium alloy inspired by a French race car that Ford got to look at first hand (the alloy is about three times as light and strong as the regular steel used for most automobiles at the time, which explains why so many Model Ts have survived to this day). Yet the automobiles were still largely hand-made. So in 1913 the Ford Motor Company adopted the assembly line as their method of constructing the vehicle.
